For the Virgo (October) I used two different images for the main subject and the background:
Here's the main subject: the so-called perfectionist that represents the personality of Virgo. I used layer mask and direct selection tool to select only him, his cello and pedestal and not the rest of the background. Then, I went to Edit>Transform>Flip Horizontal to flip him in the opposite direction. Consequently, I used eraser tool to erase any jagged lines along the edges. Then, I duplicated the guy's layer and set the duplicate to a soft light effect to get a nice color. In addition, I also put a drop shadow effect on the guy.
For the background, I resized the music sheet so that the notes can be seen more clearly at the background. After that, I placed it and then used the pencil tool to write some words on the sheet. I used the pen tool to separate the guy from the space for the calendar. After drawing a straight line, I right-clicked and selected "Stroke Path" and then Brush tool. Before, I selected a patterned special effects brush. After that, I used the rectangular marquee tool to select the calendar part and then used gaussian blur to blur the background so that the calendar will be more focused on. I also adjusted the Hue/Saturation to give it more colour.Lastly, I added in the text for the description of Virgo and the calendar numbers. I used Century Gothic font and added effect such as outer glow and drop shadow.
Here are the images for the October month:

First, I used Direct Selection tool to select the girl out of the picture in the first one. Then, I used eraser to get rid of the jagged outlines and healing brush to rid any imperfections. After that, I duplicated the girl's layer and put a soft light effect on the duplicate. I also put a special outer glow effect on her
For the people in the crowd, I selected three people from the picture and did the same with the girl by erasing jagged lines and all that. I put a filter gallery effect (pallete knife) to make the main girl stand out more.
For the background, I chose a ballroom scenery with lights and ambience for that "cocktail party" feel. I only adjusted the position for the background and put a filter gallery effect (Pallete Knife). Then, I added the text (Brush Script Std) and the lights are done by using pen tool and then selecting Stroke Path > Brush.
